Having a famous mother and father helps.
But Will Smith and Jada Pinkett's 13-year-old daughter Willow is already blazing her own trail as an R&B singer.
And on Friday evening she invited big brother Jaden to join her on stage in Brooklyn, New York.
Running in the family: Willow Smith
invited her big brother Jaden to join her on stage during her gig at The
Fader magazine's Fort event at Converse Rubber Tracks studio in
Brooklyn, New York, on Friday
The
teen wore a black roll neck sweater and high-waisted denim shorts over
opaque black tights. She teamed her outfit with flat, lace-up,
high-rise boots.
Jaden,
16, wore an extra long black hoodie, black skinny jeans and black Nike
trainers as he rapped with his sister, bobbing his trademark
dreadlocks.
He's with me: The 13-year-old was bowing material from her 3 EP when she called out her rapper bro, 16

Started young: The teen ended her set with her 2010 hit, Whip My Hair, recorded when she was just nine
Willow,
who wore her ombre-coloured curly hair cut short, was at the gig to
play new material for the first time, according to The Fader's website.
She
played three tracks from her EP, which is called 3 and will be released
on iTunes November 10, before launching into her R&B bop Summer
Fling.
Dancing it out: Willow showed some of her moves
Crooning: The budding star belted it out
She closed with her debut hit, Whip My Hair, which she released in 2010 when she was just nine years old.
The
young star also shared the stage with songstress SZA at The Fort, The
Fader magazine's three-day music event at Converse Rubber Tracks, a
community based recording studio
However, there was no sign of her mum and dad, Will, 46, and Jada, 43.
