I thought they'd all be t***ers': Michael Buerk reveals how he REALLY felt about I'm A Celeb campers after being booted out

He twerked, he rapped and he found a new best friend in Tinchy Stryder.
But despite his surprising entertainment value, Michael Buerk was the third person to be kicked out of the I'm A Celebrity jungle on Wednesday night.
The straight-laced newsreader certainly let his hair down while in the jungle, showing off his more spirited side after claiming he would be 'a long time dead' if he didn't take the reality TV opportunity.

Entertainment value: Michael Buerk became the third person to be evicted from I'm A Celebrity on Wednesday night, despite his priceless entertainment value
He was interviewed by Ant & Dec on the other side and immediately presented with nuts as a post-jungle treat.
Asked what he really thought of his experience, the celeb-phobe said: 'I thought they'd all be t***sers, and not all of them were,' he said. 'I thought the regime was hard but the people were better.'
He told the presenters that he didn't regret going on the show but slightly regretted leaving the friends he made in camp.

The retired broadcaste lasted 19 days on the show but said he was 'pleased' to leave.
Never was that more clear than when he was reunited with his wife Christine on the bridge, appearing to burst into tears as he embraced her.
He looked gaunt in his shorts admitting during his interview that the lack of food had been difficult to deal with: 'It's amazing how it alters your mood. People get down when they are hungry.'

When Jake teased that he wanted to be left in the final two, Mel said that Jake made her feel 'giddy.'
Later that morning, Carl Fogarty was picked to do the Bushtucker Trial, despite Mel putting up a fight on behalf of the strong women in the camp.
It was politician Edwina who disagreed, arguing that Carl would be better and more physical, therefore more successful in bringing back food for the camp.

Being a strong independent woman, Mel continued to press the matter, saying: 'I don't need a man for anything but sex. I'm self-sufficient me, I've been that for 12 years.
'I've got all my mates, my family and I don't need a man. It would be nice if he was there, but I don't need them there.'
With Carl out of camp winning eight stars for the campers, Kendra and Mel clubbed together to talk over the disagreement once again.
Kendra compared the argument between Mel and Edwina to the one she'd endured with Edwina a couple of days before but tried to defend the Tory by suggesting she meant that she herself had been lucky in love and missed her man.

Mel replied: 'She's lucky she's found someone. I'm envious that she's found the love of her life. But I'm cross because she's telling me I can't do something. She's so heavy handed.'
'It's horrible to be told who you are from someone who has not known you longer than a sneeze. We have children, we've had to deal with really big stuff just because we're not Oxford educated.'
When the others gathered round, television presenter Mel announced that she wouldn't be cooking tonight after being told that pulling apart last night's Octopus was a 'man's job.'
In the Bush Telegraph, Edwina said: 'I'm flabbergasted that these beautiful women in their forties are saying "I don't need a man."'

Sweeping the argument under the rug, it was announced that Carl was made Bush Boss for the day and he made Mel his deputy.
Michael set about instructing everyone to do something, cracking the whip with wood collecting and making paper chains.
The campers joked that his natural leadership had gone to his head as he donned his white shirt and tie.
Celebrities Jake and Edwina were wilting in the head but Michael told the Bush Telegraph, 'Unfortunately I have not been provided with a whip, which I think is an oversight. It's difficult to pick one slacker from the other.'

When Michael and Mel were sent off to Snake Rock, they first had the task of picking the treat for the camp.
Luckily, the campmates got the question right and they were rewarded with coffee from Kiosk Keith.
In their absence, Kendra picked up no wood, like she was instructed to by the Bush Bosses.
She had joked that she was 'done' with the jobs when Vicki Michelle was left in charge, she said: 'I'm kicking my feet up until people respect me!'

At dinner time, there were yet more tensions over who cooked what and what roles they had at dinner time.
Melanie removed herself from the discussions because she felt like she'd been the target of jibes from the other women in the camp.
Spirits were lifted though when the campmates were treated to a Christmas party where they were forced to endure an 'employee review' before the partying could begin.
The campmates finally toasted their absent friends including Nadia, Jimmy, Gemma and Craig.
