Video of "rude" waitress at Chicago diner goes viral

CHICAGO -- The waitress was just doing her job.
A video of a waitress at Ed Debevic's Diner in Chicago has gone viral after an Idaho family caught her on camera giving her customers some sassy service, reports CBS Chicago.
Debevic's is known for this sort of "rude" service. And waitress Cherry -- whose real name is Kryssie Ridolfi -- has been working at the diner for 11 years. The video of her giving her customers some attitude was posted to Facebook and has now been viewed over 4 million times.
"I don't think I did anything different. I think it was just the right person happened to be filming me at the right time," she told CBS Chicago.
Ridolfi, a former actress, said the family was in on the joke. And she told CBS Chicago the family enjoyed her snarkiness. Even the grandpa.
"You know what grandpa, if I was nice to you, I'd get canned. If you want good service, you go somewhere else. I know Hooters is probably more your speed, but you came here on purpose," she said as she took their order.
"Rude" behavior by the staff at Ed Debevic's is part of the signature experience, explained Ridolfi. But her new found stardom has translated into extra business for the diner.
"There have definitely been more tables in my section than normal, which is nice. I signed a lot of extra autographs. I've taken a lot of pictures with people," she said. "I've pushed the envelope a little bit with people, and learned how to read who can take it, and who can't, and since I knew that they were into it, I gave them a little bit more."
Ridolfi said she is a little bit surprised by all the attention, but is enjoying it.
"I've gotten so many new friends on Facebook, and messages from people," she said.
