Irish punter wins €87m on Euromillions jackpot
Ireland has once again scooped a huge Euromillions jackpot with the nation's latest winner pocketing an incredible €86,732,923.
The numbers that bestowed staggering riches on the winner last night were 6, 8, 34, 38, and 48 and the lucky star numbers were 3 and 9. The winning ticket for the massive prize was sold somewhere in the Republic of Ireland.However, a spokeswoman for the National Lottery said no details would be revealed on the location of the sale at this stage because of the enormous security considerations involved.
"We can confirm the €86m ticket was sold here but we will not even be revealing the shop or even the county where it was sold," said the spokeswoman.
"We will be waiting for the winner to contact us," she said.
It's been an incredibly lucky 15 months for Ireland in the Euromillions draws. In June last year, a €94m winning ticket was sold in Beaumont in Dublin.
Then last September, €12.8m was won with a ticket purchased in Waterford City. This spring, a €50m winner emerged in Co Mayo. Dolores McNamara in Limerick famously won €115m in 2005.
