And thanks for reading! A good send-off for Landon Donovan, and a fairly decent match. Honduras next on Tuesday – we hope you’ll join us for that one! Goonight.

FULL TIME: USA 1-1 ECUADOR

Peep peep peep!! And that’s it. A deserved draw for Ecuador, who pushed the hosts back in the second half and got their reward at the last. Wood should have won it at the end, but I think the visitors were good value for their draw: they improved markedly in the second half.
90 min + 4: What a chance for USA to win it!! And it was Wood. An appalling mistake from Fernando Leon, who missed a routine clearance wildly and recklessly, and Wood was in, clean through! But he tried to pass to Wondolowski, which was the wrong choice – Wood was alone in front, for Pete’s sake! His pass was behind the San Jose striker, and Ecuador cleared, but that was such a great chance spurned.
90 min + 1: Michael Aston gives Klinsi both barrels:
Donovan was rather good for the Toffees and would have succeeded in any league, Klinsmann was most spiteful to leave him out, just cruel, sociopathic actually.... reminds me of how managers in managers England’s past (Hoddle) treated Gazza...
90 min: Gruezo tries to replicate Valencia’s goal, and sends it into orbit. Four minutes of added time.

GOAL FOR ECUADOR! 1-1!

88 min: And it’s Valencia! Well, well, well. USA have been sitting so deep, so Valencia thought: sod this, I’m going to have a shot from distance. And he did – and what a shot it was!! It dipped and swerved, almost Ronaldo-like, and beat Guzan totally. What an excellent effort: Ian Darke on commentary was convinced it was deflected by Ream, but it didn’t touch him. It was just an extremely precise shot. Great goal.

84 min: Ream whacks clear and out of play. USA are way too deep.
Just looking at the goal again, and Yedlin did really well. His pass was astute, and Diskerud finished expertly. Seems a long time ago now.
Triple change from Ecuador. Gruezo is in for sure, and Leon. Castillo off. Three more to figure out!!
82 min: Noboa, again, tries one from long range, and it bounces awkwardly, but it’s tame. Remember when I said there’d be more goals?! I am a hoot, aren’t I.
Updated
79 min: Ecuador have really pushed up now – USA sitting deep inside their own half. Wondolowski has to hold it up now, I suppose, and he does, bringing in Diskerud, whose pass for Yedlin is crap.
77 min: Jonathan Gonzalez finds himself in space again down that right side, but there’s a surfeit of white shirts in the box. Then Ayovi tries his luck down the left side. Corner. Ecuador using the width effectively, but nothing hugely clear-cut yet. Noboa tries one from outside the box, and Guzan handles with a minimum of fuss.
