Vintage cars now face NCT
Published 16/10/2014 | 02:30
Vintage cars could be forced to undergo an a nnual NCT to ensure they are safe to drive
The move would affect around 7,500 vehicles, of which 3,500 are taxed. The remainder are off the road.
Most EU countries require vehicles to undergo compulsory testing - apart from Poland which, like Ireland, only tests cars registered after January 1980. Other countries exempt vehicles registered prior to 1950 or 1960.
The consultation ends on November 14. Details are available at www.rsa.ie.
